Decision Time – Where To Go On A Romantic Holiday

I’m not really one who thinks that you have to try hard to be romantic. I could be seen as not very romantic just for saying that. I think that the most romantic moments in life occur without being forced. However my girlfriend is determined to go away on a romantic holiday this Christmas. We’d both really fancied the idea of going to New York for Christmas. It looks like the best Christmas break possible but you need to save quite a bit of money. So we decided it might be best to look for somewhere within Europe first. We both love Turkey and have seen some amazing Turkish villas. They look incredible and inviting and plus Istanbul is a wonderful city in the Christmas holidays. I’ve been to Turkey two or three times and found it a really welcoming country. We have also seen some really great deals for romantic breaks in Crete which we are considering. We are both interested in Greek culture so Crete definitely looks appealing. Though I don’t really know if the weather is up to much during the Christmas period? It might be a bit pointless visiting a lovely Mediterranean island if we can’t enjoy the beaches. We have a mutual friend who recommended Paxos villas but again we are unsure as to whether this would be romantic due to the season. Germany is certainly another option for this Christmas. There’s plenty of Christmas spirit floating around the German markets. I think that despite my early pessimism I might be coming round to the idea of booking a luxury romantic villa. Besides, it’s not everyday you get to relax from a rooftop Jacuzzi whilst looking over some dramatic European landscape. Well, that’s my idea of what a luxury villa is anyway. I better get moving and look online for holidays!

A golfing paradise

There are three priorities that all golfers have when it comes to choosing the best places to go for a top quality round of golf. First and foremost will be the quality of the course itself, which will need to have lush fairways, slick greens and picturesque views. So much the better if a good challenge of the golfer’s skills is also on offer.

Some courses display completely different characters as conditions change and this makes weather equally important. There is a delicate balance to be struck between weather that adds to the challenge or makes for an uncomfortable experience. There’s nothing better for lowering a golfer’s handicap than a day spent enjoying the summer sun on a great golf course.

The standards of a course’s facilities are, lastly, a major consideration. Nothing takes away the pain of a bad round better than a welcoming armchair and good food the minute you finish on the final hole. For any good golf club, this is vital. Being able to share the ins and outs of their round, even a poor one, is important to golfers.

An excellent destination for playing golf in the Algarve area in Portugal. The excellent golf clubs, many situated in easily accessible locations, make the area a golfer’s paradise. Away from the golf course, there are plenty of well recommended places to eat in the evenings, along with bars and entertainment.

Whilst hotels are plentiful in the Algarve, many holiday-makers enjoy the benefits of renting a holiday appartment. It’s easy enough to find an available Algarve holiday appartment on the internet. Accomodation of many different types are available, and easy to find in no time at all. The more exclusive areas near the marina will come with higher prices, though cheaper properties can be found elsewhere.

Planning For A Safer Holiday

It is an unforgettable experience to travel to different countries and experience new cultures and traditions. You can visit the sights the country is famous for and you’ll also be given the opportunity to see the beauty of a new country. But safety should be your first priority when you travel abroad.

Planning ahead will help you to prepare for any eventuality, and make sure you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. First, you need to consider your transport arrangements. Pickpockets are often found in train and bus stations as well as airports and those who are looking for the right platform or not concentrating on their belongings are the easy targets.

Keep your important documents like your passport and tickets on you either in a belt bag or a pouch around your neck. Keep money out of sight and safely secured as well. Make sure your luggage is good quality, locked and clearly marked. Keep it with you at all times do not leave it for a minute.

To know which taxis are safe to use when you arrive at your destination, what you could do is check at information, security, or police officer. Sharing your taxi with a stranger is a big mistake and also avoid using public transportation late at night. Another thing you should avoid altogether is hitchhiking.

When you check into your hotel, make a note of where the emergency exits are, and read the evacuation instructions. Properly lock the door of your room and don’t let strangers in. You should not invite people you have just met into your room either no matter how friendly they seem.

You can choose items that will help you blend with the locals when you are packing for your holiday. You will appear as an easy target if you stand out and be more like a tourist. Keep cameras and other gadgets out of sight or attached to your body and don’t bring your expensive jewelry with you.

When you travel locally, try to use your credit card most of the time. Pickpockets and thieves will target you if you use cash. Some cash may be required for taxi fares and tips but using travelers’ checks and credit cards would be better if you travel internationally. When using your credit card, make sure you can see the card being swiped credit card fraud is rife around the world.

If you stay alert and are aware that there are criminals who specifically seek out tourists, you will have an enjoyable holiday that will be safe as well.
